Any animation I re-target and have working properly in UE4, once exported from UE4 and imported into 3rd party software (Max / Maya) import onto the same skeleton smashed together with bones crunched into another and I’m not entirely sure what the cause of this is.
Even the simple act of exporting the default skeleton, and exporting the same animation seem to have bizarre results in 3rd party software.
Are you changing the pose of the character in editor before exporting? Which program are you using and what are the exact steps that you are taking?
