I was working on my map when all of a sudden my screen wouldn’t render a thing, I nothing would respond in the viewport, and I was getting 3-5 fps instead of my normal 60+. I restarted my computer, loaded my level, still had the same issue. I switched veiwports and I was able to continue using my scene again.

- You experienced an Ensure when this issue occurred, correct?
- When you say that the screen wouldn’t render, do you mean that the viewport just froze and did not update what was currently being shown?
- Do you remember the last action you took when the issue occurred? (or any other potentially relevant details)
- You resolved the issue by switching Viewports, do you mean Window > Viewport > Viewport 2, or something else?
- Can you please post your system specs, including audio device?

It was pure black and the fps dropped to 5-3 fps. the XYZ axis thing would not update. So yes.

I was adding a sine function to my material.
You resolved the issue by switching Viewports, do you mean Window > Viewport > Viewport 2, or something else?
I clicked the quad viewport button on the upper right of my viewport and selected a different one to fullscreen.
Can you please post your system specs, including audio device?

An Ensure is like a handled crash. Internally we are notified when one occurs, but you may not be. Don’t worry about it. 
Is the editor working okay for you now? If yes, have you been able to reproduce the issue?
Now a second view port has stopped working and it still has not gone away no matter how many times I restart my computer or the editor ect. I only have two view ports left so I hope I can use them before the map is totally un-usable and I have to spend forever trying to figure out a way around it.

At this point I recommend that you uninstall the editor and reinstall it. (do not delete your custom projects). Please let me know if this resolves the issue.

Update: an autosave works still so now I can continue.
So you unintstalled and reinstalled Rocket, and then every viewport was broken?
Can you explain what you mean by “an autosave works”? Is the issue now completely resolved, or are some of your viewports still broken?
Also, has this issue only been occurring for one project? If you create a new project, are your viewports broken still?

I have one more question for you, are you running with DX11 or OpenGL?
I am pretty sure DX 11, also I got this error upon exiting after all my viewports froze.
