Bug: AI Perception Sight is blocked by Procedural Foliage Blocking Volumes

As the title states, AI Perception Sight gets blocked if the AI with perception is inside of a Procedural Foliage Blocking Volume. Setting the Collision Enabled to No Collision allows AI Perception to work again, but then the volume will not block foliage, as expected.

Repro Steps:

  1. Place an AI character in a level with Sight Perception configured.
  2. Place a second character that the first should be able to “see”.
  3. Place a Procedural Foliage Blocking Volume around the first character.
  4. First character will not be able to perceive the second.

Hello,

Could you please provide a screenshot of your collision setup? Do you have it set up to block traces?

Here’s the collision setup for the volume, it’s set to ignore everything. These are the default settings when dragging one out of the Modes panel.

Hello,

I have been able to reproduce this issue, and have entered a bug report, UE-31301. Thank you for your report.

Have a great day

Just noticed that this is still an issue in 5.2.1
any chance it might get fixed in the next 5.2 update?
can verify that setting collision on the PFV to NoCollision will allow perception to work.
Which is fine for small foliage articles.

omg… I just noticed that this is now 7 years later… lol, i assumed the “may” date was this year!
