Bring Back Reviews

Hi! I have been selling my plugins on Unreal Engine Marketplace for around 3 years now.
All of my plugins have been very successful, and they have always had 5 star reviews.

Since the launch of Fab, my sales plummeted, and remained very low until now. Some of my plugins have been selling well for years, and the day that Fab was introduced, most of them almost completely stopped selling.

I think one of the most important reasons is the missing reviews. I am not talking about the text reviews(although those would be helpful too!). I am talking about the regular star-reviews.

Some of my plugins are quite niche, but they still sold quite a bit previously, so due to their niche market, they had fewer reviews, around 3-4 reviews (5/5).
Since the launch of Fab, the reviews are only shown when there is at least 5 of them. Which store does that? Review is review, even if it’s just one, it’s already some opinion other people may find helpful!

I analyzed my sales since the Fab launch. Those plugins of mine, that had 5 or more reviews(which means their reviews are displayed), they keep selling as well as they used to, but those that had fewer reviews than 5 stopped selling almost completely, because there are no reviews displayed for them… Even though they had 3-4 (5/5) reviews! This is ridiculous and annoying.

What I would like Epic to do is to bring back normal reviews system to show all the reviews.

If you do not want to do that, then at least LET ME SEE THE REVIEWS IN PUBLISHER PANEL, SO I KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING TO MY PRODUCTS!!!
That way I can alter the prices of those having fewer reviews, or do more advertising etc. But right now, I have no idea what reviews my other plugins have, even as the publisher.

Yes, one thing preventing me from planning to release new products is this ‘handicap’ for new products.

I also feel the problem of the lack of info on the reviews of your own product, this is very counter-productive. Even though all my products display their rating, I still can’t know if they’re receiving negative or positive reviews at the moment. All I can see is the final average rating, if someone leaves a review today I’ll never know if it was positive or negative. To even know that it received a review I’d have to take note of the total no. today and compare tomorrow.

Whats’ harder to believe is that we had those things in the past and they were removed.

They are working on a review overhaul but the executives at epic want them to make cross store compatible with EGS and Fortnite so it needs to be made more robust and modular than if it was just for fab, this means it will likely be done last.

That being said some of my best sellers don’t have any ratings visible, the majority of people buy products based on value proposition not popularity, some buy solely on popularity but those are a minority. Fab search is more keyword focused compared to the marketplace, so it’s possible your title is either too generic like “bag” or it’s too branded like “ultimate bag integration system”, you gotta experiment a little and find a balance of what is searched most relative to your title but also not littered with competition that is better or cheaper than yours.

Additionally if you sell well on sales that means your base price is too high, this is fine if you plan to do discounts all the time but otherwise it will hurt sales.
