BP First Person Character Object Reference Not Compatible With BP First Person Character Object Reference

Hello, I was having some issues with a blueprint for a key door. I was following a tutorial video, and it shows me to do this:

As you can see I am unable to plug this in like the tutorial video shows, but it does work in the tutorial video. I wanted to know how to fix the issue. Is there a workaround or something, am I being really stupid somehow, or is this just a bad tutorial? Also the tutorial in question, with the timestamp of where the issue is happening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6IOn5H4KWM&t=604s

Avoid placing down orphaned nodes. Note what the person in the tut is doing. Drag the blue wire and then then search, can you find the function this way?

No. What you’re showing is somewhat weird, one way or another. I wouldn’t know how to replicate it.

Hello, I tried to install Unreal Engine 5.3.2(I had 5.5.4), Redid the tutorial from scratch, and it let me connect those nodes together! Turns out 5.5 sucks apparently. Well anyways, the problem is solved now. If I have any more issues, I will probably make another post.

Take it back :face_holding_back_tears:, but yes - I found it to be somewhat buggier than usual, sticking with v5.3 for now…
