I bought a bunch of assets from the FAB marketplace, many of them FBX format. They have all the textures in the folders, but when I import them into UE5, they’re just bright white, I don’t understand why… it’s rather frustrating and I don’t know how to fix it. I’ve tried looking for solutions all over the place but nothing I found has actually focused on my issue… obviously I’m quite annoyed, since you’d expect things that you bought to work properly and not have to faff about endlessly just to get them to show up properly.
Not a lot of information to go off on here… but I’ll do my best to give you an educated guess based off of your short description.
When you import your FBX (right click import → fbx, or import button on the top left of the content browser), a menu should pop up for importing FBX and under the Material tab you can chose to import material on import. If not, Unreal will set it to a default material with no textures. If the file includes a glb file, I recommend importing that instead as that will most likely include materials.
Double check if you have a textures folder when you downloaded the FBX, you possibly need to import your texture separately and then create a material and assign the textures yourself.
by white textures you mean there is color or not color at all? sometimes it could be that the artist uploaded a 16 bit base color texture and unreal doesn’t deal well with it, so instead you can turn it down to a 8bit and it should be fine. Anyways im just guessing, if you could upload an image it would be more beneficial as we could see what’s going wrong.
