It seems that several creators still use bots on maps to gain more plays. This can be clearly observed when servers are offline and then suddenly become active.
For instance, this creator consistently maintains a certain number of players on their map, even when maps are nowhere to be found. From the graph, it’s evident that something is amiss. When comparing the graph to all popular maps, nobody regains all players so quickly after launching the server.

I’ve been thinking all day about this on my mind, because I noticed empty maps on a public matchmaking that showed 1200 players, when I joined the game, nobody was in the map. This confirms people are finding bots to play there maps. While honest creators who follow every rule and guideline, take the punishment with no reward due to their negligent success.
I put out insanely fun quality games and research my audience when creating a map. But that’s not what creative is about, it’s about breaking the rules to get people to play your map. The discord channels prove, I read hundreds of messages a day, of creators breaking the rules with a “who cares” attitude. Then they brag about their earnings and show screenshots of $20,000. It’s really defeating and honestly a bit hurtful when guys like me make $0 for following the rules but producing maps 10,000 times better than theirs, and they don’t even know how to enable an explosive device??? Or use a mutator zone correctly. They are using other people to make their maps for them, and breaking all the rules, they get on discover somehow right away. When all my maps won’t get players and my thumbnails look as great as go goated or tycoon maps… IDK. being a creator is a bit scammy, but somehow I keep trying to find an honest way to get onto discover without bots.
