Blueprint Tooltip

It’s weird that whenever I enter a text in the Tooltip for any custom widget component in UMG in Blueprint mode, the text always disappear, as if it was nothing ever entered. I thought this is a very basic functionality of Blueprint from years ago?

Tool tips appear to be working fine on my end. I have a few questions for you that will help narrow down what issue it is that you are experiencing.

Quick questions:

  1. Can you reproduce this issue in a clean project?
  2. If so, could you provide a detailed list of steps to reproduce this issue on our end?
  3. Could you provide screen shots of any settings/widgets that may be involved with this issue?

So it actually happen like this. Enter any text for tooltip for any variable in Blueprint. Press enter. You’ll see that the tooltip is entered correctly. Then select the entire text in that tooltip box. While they are selected, click your mouse in any Blueprint diagram area. You’ll notice that it will make the tooltip disappear.

I have run a few more tests and I have been unable to reproduce this issue on our end with the information given. Could you answer the questions asked in my first post? These questions will help narrow down what issue it is that you are experiencing.

Sorry for very late reply. It happen at any condition even with new empty project. Just create a new random blueprint. Create a new variable. Then follow the steps as shown in the image attached.

First enter any text in Tooltip and press enter. The text inside the tooltip is saved properly in Tooltip. Then select that text, inside Tooltip. While that text is still being selected, click on any area at blueprint diagram. You’ll see that the text inside Tooltip has disappeared.




Thank you for the additional information. I was able to reproduce this issue in 4.15. However, after further testing it appears that this issue has been resolved. I am no longer able to reproduce this issue in 4.17.
