Blueprint Mentor

Hello,

I’m working with a rather small team (4 of us) on a rather large long term project. Our downfall is that we don’t have a programmer and since I have the most coding knowledge (know a bit of javascript, HTML5 etc nothing elaborate) I’m having to fill the shoes of the programmer.

I’ve experience with Unreal 4 as far as building simple class blueprints, levels etc: mainly the visual aspects of the engine since I’m an artist by day, but starting to look deeper and really wondering if there is anyone out there that would be offering mentor-ship services for maybe an hour or so a week just to offer advice and answer questions to help guide the project.

I don’t have the funds to hire a programmer outright due to funding it out of my own pocket and my wages just about cover software, computer costs etc but can certainly pay an hourly rate or monthly rate for a mentor service to someone maybe looking for a bit of extra cash.

If it’s something someone might be interested in please drop me an email at craigrmsmith@gmail.com or reply on here.

Many Thanks,

Craig

if u dont have coders its not prblem if u can create some good 3d stuff…

try it and maybe somebody will be connect

cheers)

I like that logic, leave a very very nice looking pie on the window stool and watch the programmers flock to your project :stuck_out_tongue:

Haha, I’m a little apprehensive of building too much of the game world without getting the core mechanics in there for testing purposes so I’m jumping head first to do that but fingers crossed a programmer does decide to join at some point :)… Now I want pie…

But you can always do props, character models, textures, there is a lot of work that can be generic for different games. Do some great models and textures for theme you want for your game, nothing attracts coders more than seeing cool pictures. It just proves you are serious about game , not yet another MMO sandbox with zombies game project that dissapears after 3 weeks.

And Ps.
What is art style and theme of your project? Also some generic description would help here, not everybody knows about multiplayer, animation blueprints and AI scripting. Without information many people will assume you have questions in all of those areas, and they just do not answer your post.

Thanks for the advice. I’ll come back when we’re a few months in to development.
