Blueprint Default Surgeon is a UE 5.8 editor plugin that resets or applies instance overrides across every map, per property

When a designer tweaks a property on a placed Blueprint actor, that actor stops tracking the Blueprint default for that property. Change the default later and those instances keep the old value without saying so.

The engine can fix this one actor at a time. “Reset Instance Changes to Blueprint Default” and “Apply Instance Changes to Blueprint” only appear with exactly one actor selected, both cover all editable properties or none, and both stop at the loaded level.

This plugin finds every placed actor whose properties have drifted, then moves the value in the direction you pick. Reset instances to the default, or push an instance value up to become the default. You name the properties, so -Properties=Intensity+AttenuationRadius moves those two and leaves every other override alone. Component properties are reported against the component that owns them.

Dry run is the default. Writing takes -Apply -Execute, and the whole batch is one undoable transaction. Location, rotation and scale are excluded unless you opt in. Drift is decided by the same comparator the details panel uses for its reset arrow.

It prints planned and applied counts separately because they can differ. On our verification project one run read 174 planned and 167 applied. Another reset 101 properties and 12 came back on a fresh scan, all rebuilt by construction scripts, and the engine’s own one actor reset behaves the same way. So the tool asks you to scan again instead of declaring success.

World Partition maps cannot be reached from the commandlet, and the report lists them as skipped. It is built and verified on UE 5.8 on Windows only, with full C++ source included.
