Blueprint Context Menu is extremely slow to load

So, the ‘actions’ menu or ‘Context Menu’ that you can open inside blueprints (right click empty part of a graph or drag of a pin) takes anywhere from 15-75 seconds to load for me (depending on context). BP function libraries are the slowest at slightly over a minute, while dragging off a class specific pin is more like 10-15 seconds.

The last thread about this I noticed everyone had Ryzen CPU’s that reported the issue. There was another thread where everyone had a slightly different but similar issue with Ryzen GPU’s and that one was solved by disabling auto-hide on the taskbar. (weird)

I’ve tried changing tons of settings, restart, update. I’ve seen other users report that they had the issue since updating 5, others when they hit some specific version 5.2/5.3, etc.

I firmly think its likely a hardware/driver + specific setting type issue maybe, idk what else I could possibly try to fix the issue, but if anyone has any ideas, let me know!

The original thread here was marked “Solved” but is not actually solved for everyone, so I’ve opened a new thread.

I helped someone with the once recently. After jumping through many hoops, I finally got a copy of the project, and realized everything was in the level BP, and looked like this

I’m just checking that’s not the case here?

Ryzen 5950x owner here. Never had any slowdown with context menus.

Though I did buy a dedicated TPM for my motherboard to offload my CPU. It would cause stutters on the built in CPU one, doubt it would have anything to do with a menu popup.

No, thats not the case here. This exact same project in UE4 did not have this issue as well, the context menu loaded instantly.

In the previous thread, some tried loading up a completely blank project and just trying to do something in the basic tutorial BP’s and still having the issue.

Someone posted this in previous thread. But exact same issue just much slower for me:

I believe you. Did have to check though

This is what it looks like on my end 5.3.2
Ryzen 5950x 64gb ram and 1050ti
win 11

My graphics card is far from fast in my current situation.

Maybe it’s a page file size thing? Maybe Unreal caches the context menu information?

My specs are:

Ryzen 7 2700X
32GB 3000Mhz
3060
970 EVO 2TB NVMe M.2

My paging file is around 60GB on an SSD

My current memory said 22GB In Use, 49/93.5GB Committed

Do you encounter any persistent stuttering during any other 3d applications? Games, Digital creation tools? (at similar intervals)

Negative. My computer performs fine for pretty much all other games.

I just did a quick test. I loaded up UE5.0.3 and tried in a fairly simple project, no lag at all, instant.

I’m using the Ark Dev Kit, which is UE5.2, so I’d be curious to download a fresh install of UE5.2 and see if it happens there to see if its a specific UE version + my setup.

No other people in the Ark Modding Discord are experiencing this issue but me, so I know its not just “ADK is slow”. Its some combo of my specific environment.
