BlenderUserSkfb - Rococo Town‑Gate Ornament (Historical Reconstruction)

This 3D model is a reconstruction of the missing ornament that once stood at the top of the town gate at Count Brühl’s former residence in Brody (previously Pförten). The original piece has not survived, but its form is based directly on drawings by the architect Johann Christoph Knöffel. Where those plans lacked sculptural detail, the model uses references from other surviving 18th‑century architectural elements in Brody to guide the interpretation.

The design features a heraldic shield divided into four fields, two containing two‑headed eagles and two containing the Brühl family chevrons. Above the shield sits a crown that follows the backward tilt shown in Knöffel’s sketches. The surrounding decoration reflects Rococo conventions of the period, including flowing, water‑like forms and shell‑inspired outlines. A simplified heraldic star appears at the bottom, consistent with similar motifs found in decorative arts from the same era. The model is presented with a worn cast‑lead surface, which is a plausible material for the original, though its exact composition is unknown.

The geometry has been prepared with practical use in mind. It can be made manifold for 3D printing, and the shield can be mirrored if a double‑sided version is required. If a historically accurate plain backside is preferred, this can be achieved with a solidify modifier. All elements are modular, allowing studios to replace the heraldic symbols with their own if needed.

This reconstruction can be used in historical visualizations, video games, film productions, or for creating a physical reproduction in metal for restoration, display or use as a prop.
