Blender UE4 FBX problem

Hello,

i’m using blender 2.73 / 2.73a and ue 4.7.1 (source) and am trying to export a skeletalmesh via blender intern fbx 7.4 binary.

First problem i have, is the message on import: ! Imported bone transform is different from original.
(I’ve started minimum 4 times new lowpoly-mesh and armature as first attempt)
Plus i have to set the scale in blender to 0.01 to get the original size, although i’ve set the units to metric.

Ignoring this message, i’m getting the skeletalmesh without animation.

Plus ^^ a pretty ugly looking skeletalmesh:

Left: original blender mesh | Right: resulting mesh in ue
(also tried to import the normaltexture reversed with no success)

From UDK-times i’ve gotten to know the FBX Converter which i tried then in version 2013.3.
The result here is, that when i use the blender intern 7.4 binary fbx, it doesn’t change anything but the filesize.
When i’m using the 6.1 ASCII fbx, it exports with animations, but the same ugly mesh.

I don’t know, what to do anymore, help PLEASE.

btw, how can i change my nickname in this forum ?

Do you use Smooth in Blender? If you Export FBX in blender make sure you checked Apply Modifiers → Edge. Hope it helps

Smooth in the (T-Menu) is set.
Apply Modifiers and Smoothing : edge in the export options is also set.
Even tried to triangulate (ctrl-T) manually before export.
And import with Calculate Normals too.

What about “Normal Import Method:” → Import Normals and Tangents.
Do you just use FBX Export of Blender or do you convert it with another converter? What about a additional modifier in blender to reduce the polygons maybe? i had a lot of problems in the past with blender fbx and ue4 but not like yours, more with bones and so on.

Import Normals and Tangents is my standard config.
I tried both, blender intern exporter and autodesk fbx converter.
My mesh is about 3k polys ^^.

Epic ? Help, please.

I would send You (Epic) my files to check them.

Nothing, really ?!

I’ve edited the colorchannels in gimp a bit, but it just has a small effect.
Obviously one or more channels are inverted.
