So, I have recently just jumped into trying to do some modding in a new engine (Unreal). My question is solely based on how to fix importing and exporting issues between blender and the hogwarts legacy creation kit (Unreal Engine 4.27.2 to be exact). I fully understand about bones, rigging meshes etc, issues I am running into is that exporting an already fully rigged file out of unreal and openeing it with blender then exporting it back into unreal completely alters the file. even when you make no changes. I have gone through and not added leaf bones. somehow the hierarchy changes and when importing it back into the engine it prompts the same warning failed to merge bones. This is even when you make no changes at all to any of the rigging or even any of the file entirely. blender seems to lose some data upon opening the file and re-exporting it back out or the settings needs to be setup properly. any suggestions here?
