Blender rigged gun imported as one mesh in UE5 – bones animate but mesh doesn’t follow

Hey everyone,
I created a pistol model in Blender with three separate parts: Handle, Trigger, and the top part (I think it’s called the Slide). I rigged it using bones, parented everything correctly, and made sure the parts are moving as expected in Blender.

However, when I export it as an FBX and import it into Unreal Engine 5, UE reads it as one single mesh, and although the bones are visible and can be animated, the mesh doesn’t follow the bone movement. I also tried exporting an animation from Blender, but the same issue happens in UE5 — bones move, mesh stays still.

Am I missing something in the export settings or UE import process? I’d really appreciate any tips on how to properly import a rigged and animated multi-part weapon model from Blender into UE5.

I will appreciate the help.

Hello there @SimonsKLabs!

Unreal and Blender tend to have a rocky relation, specially with import/export processes involving animations. First approach would be to reset export/import settings in both programs. After that, please follow the methods below:

Thats what I needed, thanks bro.
