I am wondering if i should use blender or milkshape 3d for model design, and if they can get plugins to do sculpting of models like zbrush is capable of, or if i don’t need a plugin and also if they can make 3d model assets for unreal engine… please help…
Blender comes with sculpting and it can make things for UE4, I’ve almost never heard of milkshape so no idea on that one.
Sculpting wise it doesn’t have much on Zbrush, but it can still handle millions of polys and is certainly good enough to use.
Perhaps you could post some links to youtube videos on scultping with blender. oh what about animations with a bone structure for game characters? and other models, such as text and power ups…
Blender is the best free software available, nothing else that’s free has as good of features, and it’s constantly updated.
Ms3d is a small program that was created as a game modding tool. So it doesn’t even have a renderer. The latest version was released in 2009. And it’s a shareware for which you have to pay $35. In my opinion, it’s completely not worth it. So if you are choosing between two, take Blender.
When Milkshape3D was released, Blender was horrible. Blender has improved an insane amount since then and leaves Milkshape3D in the dust now.
In short, just use Blender. It’s way better and free.
I have come to establish that now. So i am using blender, all that i ask is for some youtube links on helpful tutorials for what i am trying to do with it. please and thank you… thanks for the help.
basically just search google &/or youtube but here’s 2 I like:
