I made my mesh, yet the materials are not working with it. I have tried everything.
can you post some screenshots of the setting you used etc.
I get this error when I try to import it to Unreal Engine:
Warning Warning: No smoothing group information was found in this FBX scene. Please make sure to enable the ‘Export Smoothing Groups’ option in the FBX Exporter plug-in before exporting the file. Even for tools that don’t support smoothing groups, the FBX Exporter will generate appropriate smoothing data at export-time so that correct vertex normals can be inferred while importing.
Do you mean materials don’t work at all for it in engine or they don’t import when the fbx is imported?
can you check what file type the images are. They need to be .png or .tga to work. If they are .jpg they won’t import.
Ok it’s getting late here, I’ll have another look tomorrow and get back to you if nobody else does!
Yeah, materials do not show up on the mesh when imported. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
They are .png
Okay, thanks for helping.
I was using materials on Blender, not textures.
That might explain it.
I’m not a big blender user but this worked for me first time:
Add texture to mesh.
Exported from Blender with these settings as FBX
Imported to UE4.9 with these settings
And then here is what i get after importing. Press the save all button first and that might load the texture if it doesn’t appear at first.
Hope that helps!
