Hi, I have some 3D models made in Blender that I’m trying to upload to Fab, but when uploaded the UVs on the textures seem to lose connection to the model. They are mostly procedural textures and the UVs are unwrapped in Blender and baked as images for each channel. The UVs and textures looked fine when uploaded to Sketchfab but on Fab they don’t work. If I play with the UV scaling in the Fab viewer I can see that the unwrapped material image is basically being pasted onto the surface of the model like a single decal.
Any ideas? Thanks!
Hello, could you post the links to the fab and sketchfab models, please, so i can look into it?
Thanks for looking into this Remy_Epic!
Both Fab and Sketchfab listings are just drafts so I’m not sure these URLs will work for you but here they are:
Sketchfab
Fab
https://www.fab.com/portal/listings/3e61bc03-45ad-47bb-8300-33ee5f3100ee/preview
I’m also attaching the Blender model here.
Stupa Reliquary 20250104.blend (20.0 MB)
There is only one material assigned to the model, I tried making materials for each channel but when I upload the model to the Fab viewer it only shows one material.
I have a few other models we could look at but so far they all seem to have the same issue.
Thanks!
So just to be sure, you uploaded the model separately on Sketchfab and on Fab. It’s not a Sketchfab model that has been migrated to Fab, right?
Yes, I had just gotten them ready to go on Sketchfab when I saw that the platform was changing to Fab, and since I hadn’t published them on Sketchfab yet I started them as new listings on Fab.
Ok I repro the issue, the uvs are flipped vertically on Fab. I know the cause of this, but we need to talk internally about it to find a proper solution.
in the meantime, you can flip the images on the vertical axis and use them in fab. It’s not an ideal solution, I’m sorry. We are going to try to find a better one.
Ho wait, there is an easier workaround for now instead of editing all your textures
In editor mode, go to the texture properties and set the “V” scale to -1
Thanks so much Remy_Epic this looks great!
