Blender adding new root bone after exporting

omg please can someone help me. I am frustrating rn.

I have this unity asset that i tried importing into unreal. Its a rigged body with skelletal mesh, physics and skelleton.

Whenever I try to add a animation to the body, the body is facing the wrong direction. After exporting to blender to change the facing direction from -X to Y and exporting back to unreal, it seems like blender is adding a new root bone to the body, eventhough I unchecked the Add Leaf Bones box.

Can someone help me pls
