What’s up with all the content that is borderline illegal being sold on Fab?
You have listings like this Fab Where the lister says, in the description, that the model is not theirs and they ripped it from a game without permission but are selling it under the new “Standard license” for $10 USD.
How is any developer supposed to feel safe purchasing a license for anything on this site?
Absolutely a disaster, and puts customers at risk.
Yesterday we had a mostly functional marketplace, today it is The Pirate Bay.
Looks like all the strict copyright and trademark rules and requirements present in the unreal marketplace were taken lightly for migrated assets from Sketchfab.
Yeah, but I kind of doubt if Epic would do much of anything,in the short term. But one thing that I noticed is that an LOT of the infringing content was removed before Fab actually launched
I think you are right and this is the root of the problem. Unfortunately they’ve taken SketchFab’s approach (the new market is even named “Fab” after SketchFab) rather than the UE Marketplace approach.
