Hi everyone,
I’m experiencing an issue with Bink video playback in Unreal Engine where the initial few frames display as black screen before the actual video content appears. This is happening consistently across different Bink video files and seems to be related to the initialization process.
Technical Details:
-
Engine Version: Unreal Engine 5.x
-
Platform: Windows (primarily testing on PC)
-
Bink Format: .bk2 files
Questions:
-
Is this a known issue with Bink video initialization?
-
Are there specific settings or initialization sequences that can minimize this black screen duration?
-
Are there any workarounds or best practices for this scenario?
Additional Context:
-
The videos play perfectly after the initial black frames
-
I’m using the standard BinkMedia plugin that comes with Unreal Engine
Any insights, solutions, or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!
Best regards,
