Bind color to widget border

Hi. I have a problem i can’t work out.

I have some colors saved as variables, and i just want to bind these colors to a border or image background in my widget.
However it seems i have to load materials or images to do this and cannot simply just bind a color.
If i under “appearnce” bind a material, no matter what i select, it just returns pure black. No matter what i try to bind, i can’t get to change the color, even with a vector parameter.
In my mind it should be so simple to do, however i still can’t figure it out.

Please help

Still an issue

Not one after a week?

Come on. There must be some magicians out there
Sorry for the bumping, but it’s quite frustrating, as it holds a relatively central part.

HI ,

Please do not bump threads that have not gone unanswered for at least four days from the most recent post. This clutters the forums and makes it difficult to parse through.

Still an unresolved question.
If no one knows the answer, can a dear moderator please at least point me in the right direction?
