Hello,
I was looking at some of the Third Party Licenses in the Engine folder, and there was some wording in some of the licenses that I wasn’t quite sure about that I wondered if anyone might be able to help with. Here is the wording from the ACES License:
Use in binary form must retain the above copyright notice, this list of conditions and the Disclaimer of Warranty in the documentation and/or other materials provided with the distribution.
I was wondering if anyone knew what binary form is and how it might be used in the Unreal Engine. Also, if possible, if anyone knows if the player uses it in binary form when playing the game and will need to be notified of the license. According to this post I found, the person at the bottom thought the player would need to be notified: licensing - What exactly is "Binary Form"? - Software Engineering Stack Exchange , but I wasn’t sure if there might be something different with how the binary files are used in Unreal. Like that maybe I’m the one using the different codes in binary, since I’m using the editor, but the actual player ends up not using it in the game.
Thanks to anyone able to help!
