I was in the beta, and I’ve been seeing these sweet looking beta participant badges around. How do I get one? 
I didn’t have an unreal forums account at the time of the beta, but i had an answers account. I can’t remember the name of the site, but it’s what answers.unrealengine is now.

I always wonder how people obtain that badge, when you say beta, do you mean a preview like 4.9 preview?
Beta was when UE4 was not released, so before GDC 2014.
Oh, I just see a large amount of those with the badge having accounts made much later after that (2015).
When ue4 was codenamed rocket i think
as long as you were in the beta you qualify for one, there was a thread saying who you had to ask to get your badge(I think it was chance or alex), I’ll see if I can find the thread or I’ll just pass this on for you.

when UE4 was released we all had to make a new account on this forum and some of us still haven’t.
How’d you get yours then? Also, are we allowed to talk about the beta and it’s information? I’m not sure why it’d be a problem, but the NDA looked pretty scary. I’m always afraid of mentioning the code name or any information about it for the fear that epic will destroy me with a court order. lol.
I had my free few months of the engine when it came out and everything, so i’m not sure why I wouldn’t have the badge.

I was involved in some threads where the beta badge was being discussed.
I don’t know/cant remember if we can talk about the specifics of the beta or not but its common knowledge that rocket was the code name for UE4.
I guess you must have slipped through the cracks but I am sure it’ll get fixed soon enough:).
I didn’t know it was common knowledge, but I’m not surprised since they didn’t rename a lot of the engine files when they went public. I’m also pretty sure they left packaging as “Rocket Game”. Haha

I’m especially confused because my join date says June 2015. I signed up with the same information that I used in the beta. Hell even my billing history on this account pre-dates June 2015.

There’s not a specific place I should ask or anything is there? Couldn’t find anything but this in the forums. Maybe I’ll contact support. All for a badge. I dun even know. Where’s Rama when you need him

The join date in the forums refers to the day you set up your forum account, not when you started subscribing to UE4. I know this because I started subscribing in January, but my forum join date is listed as the when set up my forum account in March.
