Best way to use Mari for texture painting with multiple UV patches?

I really like Mari for its texture painting/stencil creation systems but Mari works based on a system of UV Patches. While I can import a multi-patch model (i.e. a model with textures from 0-1, 1-2, etc) and it looks fine in UE4, the UV preview in the UE Model Viewer shows everything beyond patch 0-1 to be in red.

I’m kind of assuming that’s not acceptable for the model, even though it ends up displaying just fine. What’s the best process here? I would like to use Mari but limiting Mari to an entirely 0-1 workflow pretty much nixes an enormous amount of usability from the Mari application. Is there no alternative to this?
