Best way to Create and Import Animations from Maya?

Hi everyone,

I’m a noob on here although I have been working with the UDK for a few months now, after switching from Torque 3D.
Basically I have been making levels and exploring all the awesomeness of the UE.
Now I’m at that stage where I’m ready to create and import a main character into the engine.

So my question is, should I create all of the animations on one playthrough sequence before importing, or should I create and import each animation separately?

In Torque3D, I had to import the whole sequence and then break it up in the engine, which caused some major issues most of the time, hence why I’m expanding my horizons in the engine department. Hopefully UDK’s animation sequencer and set up is a bit more logical and manageable than that of T3D…

If you have any pointer or suggestions for this matter, please let me know. Any insight helps.

Thanks a lot in advance.

I dont know how it works in maya, but in blender we always create all the anim sequences (run sequence, walking sequence,…) and then we import everything with 1 file -> after that we have all different anim sequences in the UE4
