Best way to build a Landscape

Hey all,

first I love building small games just for me for fun so Iam not advanced.

I have a Landscape about 100x100 scale. In the middle I have a hill and around the scape are big stone.

Overall I have placed about 200 Stones and maybe 3000 Foliages and Trees. Also I placed about 30-40 Blueprint Actors.

Now my VRAM gets to its Limit. (8GB - NVIDIA RTX 3070) but I want to place more Foliage, Actors and Stones. I reduced already the Engine Quality to medium and the texture Quality.

What is the correct way to place or build a map. How do professional devolopers do this with about a million placed objects ? (Guess they render only objects the player sees ?)

Can someone explain me a simple and best way to do this ? I ask especalliy for an easy guide because like I mentioned Iam not a pro and if you send me a developer guide I guess I dont understand much. Maybe there is just a checkbox somewhere where I can reduce what an Object needs for vram.

Is there a way I can see in the engine which actor, blueprint or foliage requires the most vram ? Maybe I have a special blueprint that went crazy and If I delete it, iam fine.

Do you know what requires the most ? Light or materials, blueprints, textures etc? So If I maybe delete all point lights from the map will this make more effect than deleting 1000 Foliages for example ?

Hope you understand my question and Iam looking forward to learn something that will help me
