The model is here for reference. I am curious as to what others are using for best practices with deal with glass on buildings? Are you just taking the OBJ model create from Realityscan into a 3d software such as blender, Maya and the like? I am finding that is really hit or miss with glass. What are your thoughts?
I would like to bump this up as it is an important and missing piece in all the tutorials I’ve watched.
- Ive tried replacing windows with a flat planes in external software but after reimporting the model it looks bad textured, plus it is lots of manual work impossible without remeshing
- sometimes the opacity of glass creates so much unwanted geometry inside of the building scan that it is impossible to remove and close it even in common modelling tools
- masking is also impossible because of how selection tools work
I do get that there might be no perfect solution. Still smth that would allow at least removing the excess inside RC would make life so much easier. RC pelase help
