Best practice for prototype game characters

Hello, I’m starting to work in a personal project, I want to make a prototype to show it in the future to a publisher to be able to get funding or to make it to ue4 Dev grants.

What will be the best practice for the in game 3d characters?

  1. Use the unreal mannequin as a place holder.
  2. Buy models from turbosquid or unreal marketplace.
  3. Use free models from any www library

It really depends on your budget, 1 and 2 are probably the best as you do not always know where the assets originate on a number of free sites and could be an issue further down the line for you.
