Unless I’m missing something you can get one right now, plenty more getting released in the next month too.
I don’t look at laptops very often though so I’m not sure how they compare on price.

The asus that you have linked is one of my ideas. I’m italian, so through this site, there are problems for shipping in Italy? you know something about it?

I looks like a great fit for mobile work. You wont get better performance in that form factor. The high resolution screen will be a bit heavy to render, but for especially heavy full screen rendering you can always switch down to 1600x900.

There are GTX 10xx laptops on the horizon, but I won’t expect any to be redily available in a while.

Yep I know. In fact, I have not yet purchased the PC. I was thinking about a msi (for example the gs63 stealth pro, a good compromise between performance and portability) or to an asus rog (for example the gl502vm). Only with the 1060. Otherwise I go over budget.

Serious? uaoh !! But with the arrival of Nvidia’s 10x series, I doubt I will opt for the xps. I thought of taking an MSI with a GTX 1060. Anyway thank’s for the information!!

You get a very portable ultrabook for light work and all the GPU power (and ideally an extra monitor) you need at home. Granted the CPU and RAM is not workstation class, but depending on your situation it could be a good compromise.

It is also a pretty good value, $1600 total if you get the base version and put a GTX 1060 in the dock.

Unfortunately, products in Italy cost so much, and there are problems with the shipment. I have to find other products. thanks anyway

I am a bit confused about MSi. I kept them in choice1. but there thrmal system does not looks as good as asus or alienware

I just picked up a MSI GT62VR 6RE (MSI Canada | 404 Not found) and so far it’s been pretty good, especially once I removed all the pre-installed crapware that seems to plague laptops. It runs everything I’ve thrown at it on ultra settings at 1920x1080, including Battlefied 4, Paragon, and Fallout 4. It did crash hard and reboot in the middle of a Paragon match though, but not sure what that was about and it hasn’t happened again, yet.

Better buy a model that has an external graphics card and never plan on it being mobile. Also plan on cranking every setting to performance on it too.

I really suggest getting a dedicated workstation. You need the raw horsepower of a desktop if you want to do real work. As much as I wish laptops had what it takes they simply don’t yet. Mainly because of the limited graphics capability which is actually improving a lot these days and also mainly because they run on a battery and heavy workloads will drain them super fast.
