Hi everyone. I’m not a programmer, I usually sculpt and animate creatures. Unreal is making incredible progress and has incomparable graphics but… speaking of non-human AI it seems to still offer few solutions, or at least after years of trying with various plugins it gives me this feeling. I recently switched to Unity after finding a more user-friendly plugin in their marketplace that wasn’t limited to humanoid AIs and didn’t ignore rootmotion. But I would obviously like to go back to Unreal. My main struggle is with the fluidity of movement for quadrupeds (and creatures in general), especially the use of turn-in-place animations and non-robotic looking paths. I’ve tried with the Animal Behavior Kit plugin, but it shows these exact same limitations and hasn’t had any updates in years. Does anyone know better solutions? Or tutorials that solve these limitations in animations? the only system I’ve seen (not for sale) that handles non-human AI in a way that doesn’t look like “hey look I’m robocop” seems to be this, I’ll link it to give you an idea of what I’m looking for: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yx8OjziZHjo
