Being far away glitches

okay so i got curious and decided to see if it was possible to make some sort of space simulation with a spaceship and so i scaled a sphere to the size of earth and made my spaceship really fast so that i could see getting away from earth but then the spaceship starts shaking and disappearing once it has gone far and when i exit back to the editor some weird grey floor appears.
is this some sort of engine limitation? i know that if i wanted to make a space game i would have to scale everything down but im just curious if its possible to make a realistic space travel in UE4 because universe sandbox 2 seems to handle from a golf ball scale to a whole multi galaxy real scale with physics and all without problems
