Hi all, I am about to go to college in a few months to study computer science. I really want to develop games on the side and I thought Unreal Engine would be a nice engine to do so with since I have a little bit of knowledge in C++. However, my knowledge is only the basics. I was wondering if learning the Blueprint system would be worth it? seems like fun to be honest. Secondly, my goal is to develop some sort of 2d side scroller and I really have no idea where to start. Are there any books you could recommend or video series I could watch, Ive found the hour long session on creating a 2d side scroller(created by Epic) but im looking for MORE!!!
Thanks a lot and i hope you have a nice day everyone
For 2D I think Blueprint is pretty much ok, even for bigger games. Me personally created huge games for PC using just Blueprints and not a single code of C++.
