Before I Start my animation.......

I have a character already rigged for exactly what I need to do. Now do i set up my animation in unreal or am i able to start in maya and transport?

Definitely go from Maya and export to UE4.

It’s much easier and will save you the tears and time.

Animating in Unreal is mostly stuff that’s automated (through IKs and blueprints), and doing smaller animations that don’t require crazy stuff going on.

(That’s from my experience, I animate in Blender however)
