Basics to get up and running

Hi!

Looks like a great software. A few ques:

  1. I’d like to photoscan this:
    Any general tips?

  2. Is it possible to scan the underside of the object as well by flipping it over on it’s side? I need an all over 3D model viewable from any angle.

  3. I’ve taken 14 images of just one side of the bone, and aligned the images and this is how my view looks:

Does this mean that only two of the images have solved?

  1. Does it help that I drew these shapes on paper underneath the object?

  2. How many images ought you be aiming for?

Be great to hear,
Thanks, T

Hi Taimur Alavi

To get this sort of subject properly reconstructed you need to have much more images. start with 36 imgs per elevation and get to at least 3-4 elevations ( for upper part of model )

Not need to draw anything, use newspaper and put under the subject, it will help the alignment…

  1. you can turn it on its side, if needed - but the less, the better

  2. yes, just 2 images have been registered automatically - you need to take more photos and/or use control points to match together the unregistered ones

Thank you both, I will retry & let you know how it goes.
