from GameSparks here, GameSparks is a comprehensive backend service for games that provides developers with one single integrated tool to build, tune and manage the server-side of their games. I wanted to inform you about our recent launch of our Getting Started tutorials which aim to give you a firm foundation in using our platform and make network programming as easy as gameplay programming. These tutorials take you through the basics of integrating GameSparks to your project for use in both Blueprint and C++ development and applying some of the basic aspects of Authentication, Data Persistence, using the database, Leaderboards, Virtual Goods, Achievements etc. More indepth and focused tutorials will be released on as many topics as we can cover. I develop the Unreal tutorials part of the platform, any feedback, direction or enquiry let me know!
Here’s a link to our tutorials which will get you up and going in no time!
, can you give us a sense of the cost of the toolkit? And what else might be required that is not already included, that a new game team might need for the backend?
Does Gamespark also implements client/server logic like photon or are developers supposed to build UE4’s dedicated server app by themselves?
You host the dedicated app or is this just for persistent data storage?
Also, who is your staff? Where can we check their resumes?
And any photos of your hardware infrastructure?
Took a look at the webpage, but didn’t find any of that info.
Hi
from GameSparks here.
Yes, we implement client/server logic although I cannot comment on how close it is to Photon’s. We allow you to create both synchronous and asynchronous multiplayer game sessions and allow you to create your own match-making rules on the server. We then provide a client-side SDK which enables you to access this from within the client.
Our team is based in the UK, Ireland and the States. The majority of the technical team sits in the UK and customer services team, made up of games developers, is based in Dublin. We don’t make our team’s resumes publicly available but if this is an issue for you then we are more than happy to schedule a call to discuss. Our platform runs on both AWS and Azure. We are currently supporting millions of players monthly and billions of API calls. We have many large customers using our platform with high volume games. Again, if you need to know more details, then we are happy to schedule a call to talk through the underlying infrastructure and address any questions you have around scalability and security.
Thanks
Hi
from GameSparks here.
We have an indie-friendly model that offers you 10,000 monthly users for free and thereafter we charge $0.02 per MAU. We do however have other models based on concurrent users and daily active users and we can tailor any of these models to meet your needs often discounting the price per user in return for minimum monthly commitments. Please contact us on if you would like to discuss a custom pricing model and one of the customer services team will be in touch.
Thanks
