Not sure if UEFN request or UE request actually
Here are a few annoying auto localization examples I wanna fix with that request :
-
Gold → (FR) Doré (means Golden)
Forcing you to write Gold Coin instead everytime -
+1 Key → (FR) +1 Touche (as in a keyboard key)
Forcing to add context (chest key for example) -
Better drops in the Lucky Chest → (FR) De meilleurs butins dans le Lucky Chest (Lucky Chest not translated because it has capital letters)
What I’m asking is either :
- Add an alt string that’s only used for localization without having to change the default locale string (so that we can add more context for translations only)
e.g. Key (alt: Chest Key) → (EN) Key; (FR) Clé du Coffre
e.g. Better drops in the Lucky Chest (alt: Better drops in the lucky chest) → (EN) Better drops in the Lucky Chest; (FR) De meilleurs butins dans le coffre porte-bonheur - Use AI to provide context to the translator
e.g. Key (context box: chests, rpg, loot…) → (EN) Key; (FR) Clé
Also, can we know which API is being used so that we can test our localization strings without having to build everything again each time we want to change a single string ?
