Augmented Reality Unreal Engine 5: Why so hard?

Hi Everyone,

I’ve been trying to load a simple, no-animation model into augmented reality using Unreal Engine 5.

Needless to say to this appears painfully difficult. To launch for iOS, it appears you need the latest everything, Mac/Macbook so you can launch the latest Xcode so you can export to latest iOS (currently iOS 16). If someone can correct me on this I’d be happy to learn how you can do it all with only a Windows PC.

As for Android, the limited tutorials and documentation on the UE website specifically refer to UE4 ONLY, which is particularly frustrating when it discusses all the precise versions of the other software you need, Android Studio, Visual Studio, etc.

Using the latest version of Android Studio & Visual Studio anyhow, packaging content failed and there is little to turn to for knowing what works with UE5. There is no updated documentation on UE’s side either.

Appreciate if anyone has any idea where the best place is to turn to for creating AR content directly from UE5. Thank you

I give up with UE5 an XR, from the last UE4 seems that they broke something and is not prioriti to fix it
