I currently have a small problem with audio volumes.
The activation of reverb when entering the audio volume works without problems. However, reverb is not deactivated when leaving the volume. This also applies to the ambient zone settings. They are activated without problems but not deactivated when leaving the volume…
made a little screenrecording with “stat sound reverb” turned on, to demonstrate the issue
Does anyone else have the same problem? Thanx for your help! Mitch
Hi @MitchMik, I would expect the volume to be zero’d out. Just to check, can you try adding a Reverb setting to your World Settings and sent the Volume amount to 0? I would like to see if it falls back to the World Settings.
Hi @MitchMik, after some investigation, it seems this bug has been fixed in 4.26. We’re sorry that you’re running into this issue, unfortunately our team lost our QA during that release, so some issues unfortunately flew under our radar.
If you need, the fix Change List is 14422214
If you need a workaround, try adding a dummy Reverb Preset to the World Settings with 0 as the send Volume. Otherwise, the Fix CL if you want to repair the issue on your Engine version.
However, if you can update to 4.26, I have tested 4.26 Preview 7 and it is definitely working properly here.
Thank you for the quick help! The workaround with world settings works perfectly here…
Downloading 4.26p7 at the moment…
I´m designing a diploma course for “interactive audio” at the moment and have to decide on system requirements for the students…
so i think it´s gonna be 4.24 oder 4.26…
Thanx!
SoundClass is set up correctly…
Followed exactly the same routine as in 4.25/4.24, where reverb is working…
“stat soundreverb” even says, that the reverb (cave) is active, but it´s not audible…
I don’t know what to say, I am able to get reverb to work exactly as expected in 4.26 Preview 7. Perhaps you can tell me more about your setup, maybe there’s something missing? Have you tried watching my video? The video was created as a checklist on how to get Reverb working.
Try using a custom Reverb setting and increasing the gain. The old Engine Content reverb settings were designed for Microsoft’s XAudio2 reverb, a remnant of the legacy audio engine content.
Yes, I´m sorry… Just stating “it doesn´t work” is not a very good error description… I was in a hurry…
Sure, I have watched the video, and normally I don´t have any problems setting up reverb in UE4. Just missing something here in 4.26…
Here´s my setup/workflow:
Ok, I could narrow down the problem…
Was checking out the new Quartz system earlier today (which is awesome btw) and all of a sudden the reverb was working…
The only difference was, that i had my stereo system connected and not the surround setup…
Switched back to my 5.1 setup—> reverb gone
Back to 2Channel Stereo: reverb working again…
up to 4.25 reverb was working with my surround-setup as well…
