Audio Modulation and MetaSounds within MetaSounds?

Having an issue where it seems like Control Busses (via Parameter Patch) are not affecting a MetaSound when the graph is added to another MetaSound. Is this by design or should I still be able to affect the volume, in this case, of all MetaSounds that have the Control Bus/Parameter Patch assigned?

Things I have done:

  • Control Busses are added to a Control Bus Mix.
  • Control Bus Mix is activated.
  • Parameter Patch A has Control Bus A and is assigned to MetaSound A.
  • Parameter Patch B has Control Bus A & B and is assigned to MetaSound B.
  • Parameter Patch C has Control Bus A & C and is assigned to MetaSound C.
  • MetaSound B & C graphs are added to MetaSound A.
  • Control Busses do affect MetaSound A, but not MetaSound B or C.
  • Volume Routing is set to Union, Modulate is true, and Parameter Patch is assigned in the Modulation tab in the Details Panel for all applicable MetaSounds.

Per the Unreal Source Discord server:

Only the outermost MetaSound is the Source. Any sub graph is just a sub graph.
It’s just a way to reuse and organize graphs.

In other words, it’s by design and I misunderstood it from the beginning
Only the outermost MetaSound is going to be affected by the Parameter Patch.
