I have been trying to use metahumans in a game idea I have been working on but I think I ran into an issue. I am wanting to put boxing gloves on my female metahuman that will move with her during animations of course but I have not been able to figure it out. I thought just attaching it to her body SkeletalMesh and adjusting the location would work but it just floats there when she moves and does animations. So I just want to see if anyone has been able to do something like this before, thanks.
did you disabled the collision of gloves?
So it looks like after some poking around and deep, deep youtube and google searching , I seem to have come across a solution for me. Just in case this may help someone else out I had to go into my metahuman thirdperson blueprint and attach the material (in this case gloves) to the parent socket under the details pane when looking at the thirdperson blueprint of my metahuman. Also note I had to create the sockets by going to the skeleton tree of my metahuman and creating a socket of the bone I wanted the material to attach to. Now the gloves move with my character like it’s apart of her body.
oh… i thought you already did them
Nope, but thanks for having faith in me that I did
add a ring to the skeletal mesh like adding a ninth leg to a spider or an extra foot knee on one of the legs attaching things to skeletal mesh is notorious for being bagy
