Attached pistol appears in wrong place in play mode

I have created sockets in order to attach weapons in my Equip/Unequip function for my Third Person Shooter game. I have positioned them where I wanted and the preview assets looked right in the skeleton mesh editor but when I hit play and equip the pistol it appears attached behind from where the desired socks location is. I can’t figure out why is this happening…Any ideas on what is causing this problem would be great! Thank you.
