Async Loading Screen

Has anyone ever figured out how to set the volume for a movie played with this?
everything else works great

Could this support the use of Video Materials for movies that need more than 1 channel?

Async Loading Screen version 1.3.0 is available now

Changelogs

  • Supports Unreal Engine 4.27 (Select other branches for other UE versions)
  • Added option for hiding Loading Widget when level loading completes image
  • Moved animating Image Sequence into OnPaint function

Does Stop Loading Screen only apply to movies and not backgrounds? I’ve set it to 6 seconds in the level blueprint and it is completing before the textures are done loading. Previously in my custom loading screens this was plenty of time for the textures to load before my loading widget was removed.

Hi!

First thank you for the awesome plugin! It’s been fun learning and using it in my project!

Second,
I’ve been having some issues with it unfortunately where the tip widget is completely whited out, basically blocking the bottom of the background image. I’ve messed with basically every aspect of the tip widget just to see what it could possibly be but no luck yet unfortunately. Has anyone ran into this problem yet? Any fixes or suggestions?

Thank you in advance!

For anyone having this issue I finally found it. It’s under the “Layout” tab and marked as "tint"

Hi.
Plugging in a test movie from the tutorial causes a black screen and stops loading for almost a minute. Without it, normal text backgrouns work. UE 4_27. I installed the plugin in the engine directory and in the Plugins project directory I did not win (should I upload to Plugins as well)?

Is there any solution?

Thank you in advance for your answer.

Hi, I’ve checked the tutorial again. It works just fine. Make sure you put movie clips(.mp4 format) into the “Content/Movies” folder. If you clone the plugin from Github then place the plugin into the Plugins folder. Delete Intermediate, Saved folders then try again. It should work fine.

Hello Truong!

Veeeery handy plug-in I have to mark and underline this!!!

One question though - is there a way to hide the mouse cursor while the video of the startup loading screen is playing (like the unreal logo and the studio logo on a black background and there the cursor stands out awfully white)

I haven’t thought about this. I’ll consider adding an option for hiding the cursor in the next update, thanks.

Hi Truong!

Does this plugin works in VR? I am trying to add it to a PSVR project but it crashes.

The game starts, displays the load screen but when it will display the main menu, it crashes.

No, this plugin doesn’t work in VR. In VR, you need to use 3D widgets to create a loading screen.

In 4.27.2 the start up screen never shows. Only the default loading screen is showed

Error: Missing precompiled manifest for ‘AsyncLoadingScreen’ for Mac packaging.

Packaging works perfectly fine on Windows, but when I try for Mac it shows this error.

Check your video format (.mp4) and place it in the Movies folder. My startup movie works perfectly in 4.27.2

Did you package your game with the Marketplace version? Try to package your game with the version on Github for Mac and Linux instead. Place the plugin into the Plugins folder, remove the Marketplace version then rebuild your project.

Where can I find the version on Github? I tried looking for it on there but couldn’t find it.

Yes, I found it, but there is only the 1.3 version in the changelog which is for unreal 4.27, I need the 1.2 version for unreal 4.26.

Switch to 4.26 branch
