Astaraa - Interactive Fog

Quickly add fog to a scene that responds to player movement.

Light on performance - using basic Niagara particles. not fluid sim.

Simple asset. What you see in images is what you can expect.

Example for basic rectangular, round, flowing/moving, toxic (green). Include simple demo level.

Many options to play with:

  • Opacity

  • SpawnRate

  • ParticleScale

  • Shape (box, sphere, cylinder - shape fog will fill (box is usually the most appropriate))

  • FogSpeed (how fast particles animate)

  • InteractWithPlayer

  • InteractionPower

  • WindSpeed (add movement across the ground)

  • WorldCollision (if descending, does it go through the ground)

  • Gravity (create a descending effect)

  • Color

  • LifeScale (increase for fog floating across field)

Interaction effect increases with player speed - walking, running, standing still.

Possible future updates:

  • Follow landscape deformation.

  • Respond to multiple pawns.
