Assist: Odd Happening

I’m not sure when it started happening or even how to describe it properly, but her it goes.

When I touch an object in my level or a drop a generic cube into it the 3 arrows (red, blue, green) that allow you to manipulate and move an object aren’t aligned properly. This is really messing up my ability to place objects precisely or move them easily. Can someone tell me how to reset this to the proper alignment.

This is because you are manipulating the object in world space, to manipulate it relative to the object, click the little Earth icon in the top of the viewport to toggle:
