Assigning audio reactive niagara systems to submixes?

I’m new to the audio side of UE5 and am struggling to figure this out.

I have some audio reactive niagara systems that I want to react to different sound sources. Inside of the AudioSpectrum user parameter I assign a submix that already has some in game sounds attached to it, yet niagara system reacts to all in game audio. I’m not sure if my problem is because I’m simply misunderstanding how the submix system works or if this is some kind of bug with UE5.1.

I’ve been trying to figure this out for several days, and there is a remarkable lack of helpful information on google. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
