Assets not showing in content browser!

Recently my portable SSD got corrupted somehow and some of the files in my school project got corrupted. I have a backup that’s a few weeks old and I’m trying to bring everything that isn’t broken over. But when I put an animation blueprint into the new project it just doesn’t show up in the content browser. When I validate the files it can see it and says there are no errors with the file. It isn’t a redirect file, I’ve tried deleting my CahceAssetRegistry and the file has also disappeared from the corrupted projects content browsers. all these files are in the file explorer, any help would be much appreciated.

Are you using the same version of the engine?

Did you move the file using Windows explorer?

Yep, same version and yeah windows explorer

Migrate would be better

It can see the files in the migrate option, but when I tired it, it just gave me an error

Temp Backup/Tue_30/Content/StudentWork/Player/test2/ does not appear to be a Content folder. Migrated content only work if placed in a Content folder. Select a Content folder. It did this for moving to the other project as well.

You have to click the content folder to choose it.

Tried migrating and the files are in the file explorer but not the content browser. so still broke.

That usually means they were made in a new version of the engine… strange.

I have always kept my unreal up to date, and it is the same version at school as well as my home.

Something’s different, I’m guessing. Maybe you have a plugin installed in one place and not the other?

I haven’t installed any plugins.

Try opening the offending asset with notepad. You can see what version of the engine it was made with

No, I made sure they are the same version, again the file has also disappeared from the corrupted project. It’s also not just this one file, it’s a few of them that are not corrupted but just don’t show up in either of these projects.

Yeah, file is the right version.

Then I’m not sure, sorry…

It does sound like the files are broken…

Yeah, but there is nothing pointing to it being broken, when I validate the folder it scans the files without error and when I migrate it also recognizes them.
