Why do Megascans assets in Megascans FAB in Unreal show that they can no longer be used with Unreal Engine, but only with UEFN? They were still available for UE a while ago.
I notice the newer assets are not part of my library, only the ones that were in the library when I converted. I expect it’s a sort of ‘spotify - membership is for life - except not any more, cause we got rid of it’ sort of thing…?
Those are assets transferred from Megascans Bridge to Fab. I assume it has something to do with the migration to version 5.8, since someone decided the Bridge plugin is deprecated; so, if you were using any features from the Bridge plugin, it messes up your materials. The only assets I have there are scenes—I’ve only tried one so far (Medieval Banquet)—but they use Substrate (on 5.7).
I don’t know if something was discontinued. It seems more like someone just made a mess of things.
