Assets from Electric Dreams, grey/black, after migration to another project

Sure, you can enable Substrate in the project settings.
If you prefer not to enable Substrate, you can convert the affected materials back to the classic pipeline:

  1. Open the affected Master Materials.
  2. Connect everything that’s necesarry to the classic (pre-Substrate) Result Node of the Shader.
  3. Remove the connection from “Substrate Shading Models” node to “Front Material” pin.

After this, the shader will compile and run using the classic rendering pipeline again.

Electric Dreams was built specifically around Substrate, but it can be adapted without issues if you want to use the traditional material system.
