I have a couple of asset packs that come with an “overview” level showing all the different assets in the pack.
It would be really useful to have a reference for them and what they are called when constructing, instead of looking through the thumbnail images in the content browser. The overview levels are a great tool for reference but are there easier ways to utilise them when constructing?
Many thanks for any suggestions, and I’m sorry if this has been covered before. I did a search, but wasn’t 100% what to search for!
Thanks for getting back to me - I really appreciate it!
Currently, I’m using the content browser to identify items, but when creating a new level, I want to reference the static meshes from the “overview” map.
Is there any easier way of doing this without having to reload levels for reference?
Hope you understand my basic level of beginner explanation!
So I need to ask what you mean by “Reference”. Because “reference” is a word used in programming. I assume what you mean is just be able to grab things from one level and put them in another (can’t do that).
What I suggest is:
Find what you’re looking for in the overview.
Find their base version in the Content Browser.
Rename things you want to keep to something like SM1_Box or something (in the content browser, not the level).
Rightclick your CONTENT folder and “Fix Up Redirectors”.
NOW when you go to your level you’re building they’re right there at the front
